![]() ![]() Studies of biological shape variation utilizing geometric morphometric techniques may be completed with software freely available on the Internet and time invested to master the small learning curve in concepts and theory. We conducted our study with 350participants of Caucasian and Asian ethnicities. The daughters and sons showed leftward asymmetry while the mothers showed rightward. We also investigate and compare the efficacy of the 2D:4D ratio, a commonly used marker of sexual dimorphism, to the fully multivariate approach of shape analysis in discriminating between male and female sex. This study investigates the relationshipbetween financial risk taking and 2D:4D, a putative marker of prenatal testosteroneexposure, in the framework of prospect theory. The mean SD 2D:4DL was 0.93 0.04, for mothers, 0.92 0.05 for daughters and 0.92 0.05 for sons. ![]() This was a cross-sectional study from December 2020 to April 2021 involving 272. ![]() In this study of hand shape analysis, we introduce the reader already familiar with the field of twin research to the potential utility of geometric morphometrics and demonstrate the cross-discipline applicability of methods. The study aimed to determine the relationship between digit ratios among a motherchild population in Ghana. The purpose of the present study was to test for variation in digit ratio across a number of inbred strains to assess the potential of inbred mouse strains for. Usually, males have lower ratios when compared to females. Interestingly, it is constant since birth and not influenced by the adult hormone levels. Using a cross-sectional design, this study quantified the relationship between the digit ratio (2D:4D) and muscular strength in 57 adolescent boys. In recent years, the development of geometry-preserving analytical techniques built upon multivariate statistical methodologies has produced a new discipline in biological shape analysis known as geometric morphometrics. Ratio of 2D:4D is found to correlate negatively to testosterone and positively to oestrogen in the foetus. Studies of physical traits, however, are usually limited to size-related biological characteristics because it is inherently difficult to quantify the morphological counterpart - shape. Twin studies are extremely useful for investigating hypotheses of genetic influence on a range of behavioral and physical traits in humans. A BSTRACT >8 Because Digit Ratio (2D :4D ) is a simple and effective index for invest igat ing the gender differences in the field of physiological anthropology, this study was de signed to examine the relation between 2D :4D and BMI (Body Mass Index), the latter being regarded as a useful biomarker. ![]()
